9 Foods You Should Never Feed Your Dog!

9. Onion & Garlic

Onion & Garlic

There are other reasons why you’re advised not to share your food with a furry friend. It might contain onion and garlic.

Members of the Allium family (onions, garlic, chives, leeks, etc) can be poisonous to dogs and cats. Onion & garlic poisoning can damage the animal’s red blood cells, making them more likely to rupture. It can also cause gastrointestinal issues, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and drooling, as well as other symptoms like lethargy, pale gums, increased heart rate and respiratory rate, weakness, and collapse.

If your dog is experiencing severe garlic poisoning, he may require a blood transfusion in order to survive.
