What do you prepare in the morning for breakfast? Probably rolls, egg and cold coffees? Or only a glass of water and a cup of coffee? The latter is definitely the most dangerous. Skipping breakfast And this kind of breakfast – namely having none at all – makes you even thick. Who does not eat breakfast is thicker than who eats double breakfast.
Researchers from Yale and the University of Connecticut have now found the result which was published in the journal “pediatric obesity”.
For their study, they analyzed the morning eating habits of 600 students of the fifth to seventh grade in relation to the weight of the students who had no breakfast at home or at school, or both. The result: The weight of the students who ate double breakfast was on average the same as that of other students. But those who never or only sometimes ate in the morning were twice as likely to be overweight as the double-eaters.
The aim of the study was not to find out why this is so. But the researchers have a guess: people, who do not eat breakfast, eat it later in the day; they even eat more and therefore take more calories. If you think skipping breakfast is the best way to stay slim, then you are very wrong. The habit doesn’t cut calories rather increases calorie intake.
Although the study was carried out among young people, the results are same to adults.
