7. Eye Contact
Asperger’s is often difficult to diagnose because it can affect people in different ways. One of these effects is that someone with the condition may have trouble understanding others’ facial expressions and moods. Asperger’s can also make it hard to read social cues, which will lead to misinterpreting situations.
This is another typical symptom of eye contact anxiety. People might either avoid it altogether or hold it too long and make the other person uncomfortable. The unspoken social rule of eye contact is something that many of us know innately.
