Many people with Asperger’s Syndrome can struggle to identify subtle nuances in speech and conversation. This makes it hard for them to communicate effectively. They might have trouble understanding sarcasm, which means they will take things very literally.
It can seem like this person is dense, or they might be so earnest and honest they lack other important things in conversation. They might not have the ability to change their pitch in a way that changes how they word things.
